Flexible light without cables
Light exactly where you need it: rechargeable lamps don't need a cable or socket and can be used flexibly anywhere – on the dining table, sideboard or bedside table just as well as on the balcony or terrace.
Rechargeable lamps have a built-in battery and are usually charged via USB or a charging station. Many models are also dimmable, so you can adjust the lighting mood to suit you.
The biggest advantage: you're not tied to a socket. Popular models such as the Flowerpot VP9 by &Tradition, the Pao Portable by HAY or the Bicoca by Marset can simply be taken wherever light is needed.
Rechargeable lamps for outdoors
Cordless lights are especially practical on balconies, terraces and in the garden. But note: not every rechargeable lamp is automatically suitable for outdoor use.
That's why you should check the IP rating. IP44, for example, means that a light is protected against splashing water and, depending on the manufacturer's specifications, may be suitable for sheltered outdoor areas. For harsher weather, a higher level of protection is needed.
What to look for when buying
Besides design, the most important factors are battery life, charging time, dimmability and IP rating. Also think about where you'll mainly use the lamp. Small rechargeable lamps work particularly well on a laid table, while larger models can also create atmospheric light on the balcony and terrace.
That way, your rechargeable lamp becomes a flexible companion for cosy evenings – indoors and out.
