Unusual coffee mugs and cool coffee cups
Coffee mugs come in countless variations. The selection in the Connox design shop gives you an overview of this variety. Designers all over the world have explored materials, the ergonomics of drinking coffee and, above all, the design of the cup itself, creating unusual design coffee mugs and espresso cups.
The coffee cups from Marimekko are decorated with world-famous patterns such as the iconic Räsymatto pattern by Maija Louekari or the Unikko pattern by Maija Isola, which has been making its way triumphantly across every kind of accessory since 1964. Koziol gives its coffee mugs a plastic ring that is not only a striking detail but also protects your fingers from the hot drink. Stelton offers a real eye-catcher: the Circle mug with handle has an entirely organic shape, with a circular recess where the handle joins the mug – a stylish detail. Rosendahl stays true to its Grand Cru line and gives its coffee cup the characteristic grooves. And with the Sarjaton collection, Iittala offers a truly gentle cup: soft contours meet a pattern reminiscent of knitting.
The material of choice for coffee mugs: porcelain
Porcelain is one of the most popular materials for cups, and for good reason. It is very hard and resistant to acids and alkalis. Its good insulating properties mean your coffee doesn't cool down as quickly. Because it conducts heat poorly, your hands are well protected from the hot drink. In its liquid state, it can be shaped as desired and then decorated after firing – using spray techniques, hand painting, transfers or precious metals. This gives designers enormous scope, which makes porcelain ideal for all kinds of tableware.
