Felt Cushion Eames Plastic Side Chair

Seat Cushion for Eames Chair

The Eames Plastic Side Chair was created in 1950 in cooperation with Zenith Plastics for the "Low Cost Furniture Design" competition of the Museum of Modern Art. It was the first industrial-made chair made of plastic designed by the legendary American design-brothers Charles and Ray Eames. The Eames Plastic Side Chair now finds its matching cushion, which further improves the seat comfort on the already-optimised, organically-shaped seat. The solution for this comes from Germany, where Hey Sign has been developing and producing "innovations from felt" since 1999. The collection also included some seating cushions, which are specially made for classic chairs by Vitra and Fritz Hansen. Whether in the private sector, in restaurants, in waiting areas, in offices or in conference rooms, the Eames Side Chair gains additional comfort through the flat felt pads. The pleasant and ecological textile, made from renewable materials, doesn't have any unpleasant influence on the appearance or design of the Vitra classics. Thanks to the anti-slip cover, the cushion will stay exactly where it is meant to be. The felt-cushion is also available without an anti-slipcover, and in different colours. Double-cushions (two cushions sewn together) are also available with or without filling.
